What We Do

Urban Upbound’s five programs are integrated and work in collaboration to effectively transform public housing communities into places of prosperity. Clients and their families have access to all Urban Upbound programs, which demonstrate the best results when used simultaneously. Our programs empower individuals with hard skills, education and access to resources to improve their economic and psychological well-being.

EMPLOYMENT SERVICES	At Urban Upbound, we help clients create long term goals and career ladders to ensure that every job seeker that comes through our doors has a plan for their future.
FINANCIAL COUNSELING	Our Financial Fitness Program offers a wide array of financial empowerment services to help clients tackle debt, overcome an immediate financial crisis, develop realistic budgets, and save and invest in their future.
INCOME SUPPORT SERVICES	As part of our retention services and outreach, our Free Tax Preparation program operates in 21 locations in Queens, the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan during tax season. We also offer year-round tax preparation services at our Long Island City office.
FINANCIAL INCLUSION	The Urban Upbound Federal Credit Union offers safe and secure financial services including access to capital, asset building vehicles and ownership stakes for its members.
COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION	Urban Upbound is working to ensure that public housing neighborhoods have access to basic goods and services — including fresh food, high-quality retail, and mainstream financial services.
